Description
“A Celebration In Honor Of Death” is the fifth full-length album by Swedish atmospheric black/doom metal project Ancient Wisdom, marking their highly anticipated comeback after a 17-year hiatus since their 2004 release Cometh Doom, Cometh Death. Created as the musical alter ego of veteran musician Marcus E. Norman—known for his work in bands like Naglfar and Bewitched—the album delves deeply into themes of death worship, apocalypse, and existential darkness, presented with a more sinister and dismal edge than previous efforts. Featuring seven haunting tracks such as “Architect Of Death – Laudamus Te” and “The Coronation,” it blends operatic choirs, piano interludes, and heavy, riff-driven passages to craft an epic, gothic atmosphere reminiscent of 1990s Swedish black metal. Released on Avantgarde Music in 2021, the record has been praised for its passionate execution and ability to bridge classic influences like Blut Aus Nord with fresh, brooding intensity.
